Berlin based Daniel Haaksman is a DJ / producer / journalist / label CEO in demand. Daniel is spinning a club ready mix of hip hop, house, electro, baile funk, broken beat, rock, dancehall, polka or whatever get the people moving. He knows no rules except for one: A DJ has to rock the party.

Daniel is the compiler of the acclaimed compilation series "Dub Infusions" (Best Seven/Sonar Kollektiv), and the top selling CDs "Rio Baile Funk Favela Booty Beats" and "More Favela Booty Beats" (Essay 2004 + 2006). Together with his brother Felix he produced various remixes as Haaksman+Haaksman for Gotan Project, Stereotyp, Shantel, Tosca, Munk, OMFO, Nickodemus, Boban Markovic Orkestar, Moonshine Sessions and many others. After running Essay Recordings from 1997 to 2004 he started his own imprint Man Recordings, where he continues his
love affair with the music from Rio's favelas.

Besides partyrocking, labelrunning and remixing, Daniel has released various articles as a music journalist in German newspapers such as "Tagesspiegel" and "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", as well as numerous magazines.
